What is a TeachMeet event?

The goal of a TeachMeet is to allow, teachers and educators to share ideas, techniques, research or strategies in a fun, informative and supportive atmosphere.

Events take place all over the UK and usually take place on a weekday at a school or college.

How does the event start?

The event starts out with registration at the host venue, registration for TMSouth Wales starts at 4.30pm to allow attendees to travel from schools and colleges.

Attendees and speakers pick up their name badges and a goodie bag. There may be a 'marketplace' with company stands and information. This is a great time for networking with speakers and attendees.

TeachMeet South Wales  starts with a keynote opening and an introduction from your hosts, James and Joe.

How do the talks work?

At a TeachMeet, speakers are teachers, lectruers, trainee teachers,  support workers, assessors, all of which have agreed to share their time and ideas. There are usually around 8-10 speakers in sessions lasting 2 minutes or 7 minutes. An schedule of speakers will be given to attendees on arrival at the venue.

Do I need to bring food?

At most TeachMeets there is food for you to eat during scheduled breaks. We will always try to cater for any dietary requirements, although we cannot guarantee this due to local suppliers. However, if you email us in advance, we will do our best for you.

How do I get a ticket?

Tickets can be obtained online. via Eventbrite.

Once your order is placed, you will receive your ticket right away as a PDF download, you can also download the Eventbrite app if you want to save on printing paper.

Print out your ticket or show the ticket on your smartphone when you register at the event.
